Day 9, Sunday 30, December 2007

Sunday morning, two of our team member went to the airport to pick up our “missing” luggage. The rest of the team had the opportunity to attend an English worship service at the Calcutta AG Church. We were amazed to see that the church was so big and similar to churches in America. After the English service, we were also able to attend the Malayalam service for a short period of time. It was amazing to learn that the AG Church building accommodated about 10 different language worship groups at the same time. In the afternoon, our team was able to visit Serampore College established by William Carey, and to learn more about Carey and his sacrifice for India. In the evening we were able to minister to the young adult ministry at the AG church called SOAR (Sold Out and Radical). During the altar call many came up for prayer and the team ministered to the young people through prayer and words of encouragement. This was an amazing opportunity for many of us to see that no matter where you go in the world, young people go through similar struggles.
