Day 6, December 27, 2007
Once again, the teams went to separate villages. Team 1 was able to go to a village that had a school, and distribute clothes and school supplies there. While preaching, our team had to be evacuated due to reports of police coming to the village. While we were safe, we were able to see how the Pastors and staff risk their lives and well being on a daily basis. That evening the whole team was able to visit the Ganges River and take a boat tour of the area. We were able to see a temple where bodies were being cremated and put into the river. We were also able to witness a Hindu worship service and see the passion that these people had for their religion, making us realize how much more passion we should have in worshipping the true and living God. After visiting the Ganges River, the whole team had dinner at David's house and left to catch a train to Kolkata. While we were traveling to the train station, the Holy Spirit started to deal with the driver of one of our vehicles, and the team traveling within that particular vehicle was able to lead that young man to Christ. |
